Common Questions
The following questions and answers should answer all that you need to know about reserving an online tee time through the TeeTimes.net website.
What makes TeeTimes.net better than some of the other online tee time reservation services?
There are many great online tee time reservation websites, each providing their members with different services. Some of these sites have very good online communities that are well established.
With approximately 18,000 golf courses in North America, we recognize that we only service a fraction of the overall number of courses (though more are being added each day). In some instances, if you are looking for a particular course that we don’t service, we will even refer you on to a competitive website to help you book your round of golf. And while we would appreciate your business if you choose to use our service, we know that we can only gain your business by proving ourselves time and time again.
And if you choose to reward us with your business, it is our responsibility to keep your business. If we are disappointing you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us and let us know how we can improve.
What is your favorite golf course?
Out of all the frequently asked questions, this one is always the hardest. It is like being asked, “Which child is your favorite?” The historical answer, given our proximity to the course itself, is probably Furry Creek Golf Course, found half way between Vancouver and Whistler. The views are simply stunning, so much so that your game suffers as you get distracted by the scenery.
However, the right answer is… “Our favorite course is always the next one.”
While you are thinking about it, why don’t you post a review of your favorite course over in our Golf Course Reviews section.
What if I need to cancel my tee time reservation?
We wish we could give you an easy answer, but every course is different. If you need to cancel your guaranteed tee time reservation, you must do so within the time frame specified by the course. Usually, this is 24 to 48 hours prior to tee off; however, different golf courses have different policies. You will be apprised of the course’s exact cancellation policy when you make your online tee time reservation.
If you fail to cancel your reserved tee time prior to the cancellation deadline, the course may still charge your credit card for the full green fee amount. Please refer to your tee time confirmation e-mail that you received after making your booking (sent to the email address on the “Customer Information Screen” when you made your booking).
What happens after I have made my reservation?
Start polishing those golf shoes. After you have made your tee time booking, you will receive an email confirmation that provides you with everything you need for your reservation. This includes your reservation date, your tee time, and a confirmation number. We highly encourage all golfers to print out this email when it arrives so that you can bring it with you to the golf course. If you did not receive an email, we encourage you to check your spam or junkmail filters to see if it has been waiting for you there. While you do not need this email to play your round of golf, it may make things easier in the unlikely event that there is a problem
Our golf course is not listed as one of your courses, can we work with you?
We are interested in working with all sorts of golf courses. To work with us, please contact us via our Golf Course Partner Program, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
My reservation confirmation was never received by email, is this a problem?
As long as you had a confirmation number appear on the screen, don’t worry… you can be assured that your tee time reservation was completed successfully. Sometimes, with email and the internet being what it is, communications get lost in transit or your confirmation was sent to a mis-typed email address (rarely, but it does happen).
Sometimes clients also get so excited about the possibility of that elusive ‘perfect round’, that they stop short in the midst of their booking process on the ‘Verification’ page, the moment before the reservation is actually processed. You need to complete this verification process to generate your reservation number and book your round of golf. If you need assistance, don’t hesitate to Contact Us and we’ll do our best to help.
I tried to book a tee time online, but I experienced technical difficulties. What do I do?
First off, let us apologize for any trouble that you are experiencing. We are working hard to ensure that every booking is simple and easy. If there was an issue with your booking, in most instances it was an isolated incident in the network (everything from the power being out at the course in question, to a temporary network glitch between all the interconnected courses).
To help us troubleshoot the problem, if you could contact us with the name of the golf course, the date and the tee time that you were attempting to reserve, the approximate date and time at which you experienced the problem, and a brief description of the problem itself, we will work with our technology partners to help investigate the problem
Once again, we apologize for the trouble, and we hope that we can make it up to you in the coming weeks and months.
How real-time is your tee time inventory?
The technology we use to book your tee time online is directly connected into the tee sheet software used by the golf course themselves. Therefore, the time you see listed as available is truly what is available. The only time where a listed time may be unavailable is in the event that another user has requested the same time that you have. In that instance, the person who first completes the transaction is given the time. The system will not allow two people to reserve the same time.
How does TeeTimes.net make money?
Our business model is simple. We have tied directly into one of the largest online tee time reservation networks on the planet, ensuring that you have the lowest net rates available. This network provides its referring publishing partners with a commission for every online tee time reserved or for every golf package sold. However, TeeTimes.net also negotiates direct relationships with specific courses to provide specials to golfers like you, and better direct commissions to ourselves. The end result is that you save time and money by booking through us, and we make a little something to allow us to innovate, build a better product, and play a few rounds of golf ourselves.
How do I pay for a reservation? What is SSL?
You can pay for a reservation using most common credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. This payment method uses what is called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to ensure that your credit card information is kept secure. This is the same kind of security used by millions of e-commerce and financial websites around the world.
Depending on the collection policy of the specific golf course that you chose, at the time of booking your credit card may be charged either just a deposit for your selected tee time, or the full green fees. If the specific course does not require you to pay in advance, you will be required to pay the balance of the green fees at the golf course when you check in. The golf course will also hold your credit card details on file securely, and use this as a guarantee for your reservation. You will be apprised of all charges before you enter your credit card information and you will be asked to agree to the “Credit Card Authorization Agreement”.
