Because of Florida’s incredible good weather, it is one of the most popular places to play golf in the United States. With the year-round temperature being around 70 degrees and the summertime highs around 90 degrees, its draw for golfers is understandable. Florida is populated with quite a few award winning golf courses that are open all year round.
A few courses to consider while golfing in Florida include:
- The Great White Course at Doral is a 148-acre course, designed by Greg Norman. The Great White at Doral is primarily landscaped with tightly packed coquina sand and is the only desert-scape golf course of its kind in the Southeastern United States. It is one of several golf courses of Doral that are second to none in Florida, if not the world.
- The Nicklaus Course at Bay Point in Panama City, Florida is one of the best courses in Florida. The name says it all. Since its redesign and renovation in 2005, it has challenged many golfers from all different playing levels. It has also won numerous awards from several publications.
- Plantation Palms Golf Club in Tampa, Florida is another course that shouldn’t be missed. This beautiful and verdant course just outside of Tampa will offer an interesting round of golf in a mesmerizing setting.
Golfing in Florida presents unique challenges and interesting courses. Almost any player can find a course to test his or her abilities. This is simply one of the greatest areas in the southeast United States to play golf.
